Bus and Coach Preservation Magazine

The Northern National Restoration Group is pleased to announce that we will be featured in the May issue of Bus and Coach Preservation.

In February the group welcomed reporter Nick Larkin to our shed here in Philadelphia, Tyne and Wear; on arrival, Nick said I have to say that in the 24 years of writing articles for B&CP I have never been so utterly amazed. He was talking about the historic site of the depot and the features which remained intact from the 1990s.

Throughout the day the group showcased the NNRG vehicles and Paul R. Cassidy’s Leyland Leopard BUP which are all in the issue. The article features photos of the fleet, and the depot, and launches a fundraising appeal to raise £100,000 to purchase our building. The group lineup was done at the rear of the old Philadelphia depot which will be demolished in the next few years.

Alex Tighe group member said it is wonderful to see Nick Larkin back to see what the NNRG has been up to over the last few years, we have had some huge changes since our 2015 article which was done at the Metro-centre with 4710, 4708, and 4855. The group has purchased 3 more vehicles with Northeast historic links in that time and obviously moved from a small world war bunker to the former Sunderland NCB building.
