Winners of the 41st Tyne Tees Run
Today the Northern National Restoration Group kicked off there 2023 rally scene with a trip to the 41st Tyne Tees Run.
The event which is now in its 41st year takes hundreds of vintage vehicles from buses to wagons and even cars on a tour up the North East from Teesside to Tyneside. Starting at Stockton Riverside College and visiting towns such as Sedgefield, Croxdale, Durham, Shiney Row, Sunderland and finally South Sheilds the road run lasts around 3 hours before a rally is held at Bents Park, South Sheilds.
The Northern National Restoration Group have supported the event for many years taking Leyland National FTN710W on the run as well as Volvo B10 R855 PRG making her debut before Covid.
This year the Northern National Restoration Group were over the moon to hear we won best in class. This is 8 years after we won with Leyland National FTN710W. To win the award just shows that the work the group do in house still is at an award winning standard. Since 4855 arrived to the NNRG in 2015 she has had almost all work completed in house.
Over the winter 4855 has undergone some touch ups to her paint work, new vinyl and mechanical works to make sure she is top notch for the 2023 season.
4855 carries the Go Northern Easy Access livery which she carried when she was new in 1998. R855 PRG started life in 1998 at Chester LE Street as part of the second batch of 8 Volvo B10BLE's that were delivered to Go, Northern. The Volvo B10BLE with Wright Renown body and Volvo D10H engine with ZF HP500 gearbox was the first low floor bus that Go Northeast had got in any number.
The group will next be out at NEBPT Durham Rally this year.
